"De Vaste Burcht"has been founded by Adri Tijman in 1980. The proclamation is, that Jesus Christ is the salvation
of the universe and mankind, and the foundation of our faith; a power that impels us in our work. Although part of the regulations
are out of date these days (aid to Christians and Christian organizations behind the iron curtain), there is enough left that
can be done: Support to Christians or Christian organizations who suffer of persecution; who are - because of their faith
- financially or socially in need; diaconal and pastoral aid, both spiritual and financial; distribution of Christian literature
and other support material for the edification and distribution of the Gospel of Salvation.
Of course these examples
are not exhaustive but they may give you an impression of our aims.

The foundation has been recognized and registered by the Dutch fiscal authorities
and has an ANBI status, which allows tax deductability of donations.
Our foundation strives for a balance between once-only
and longer lasting projects. The problem is, that with the progress of years some of the once-only projects changed gradually
to longer lasting projects, reason we have less room for incidental support.
Some of the bigger projects we started ourselves,
like Nigeria (Since 1986), India (1999) and Tanzania (2008); some we do in cooperation with other organizations, like the
Malawi and Mozambique project.
Our organization consists of a board with five members. The daily work is excecuted
by the secretary.
